Uzumaki — the Japanese word for “vortex” — is a contemporary dance creation that explores the invisible spirals shaping our inner and collective worlds. The work investigates cycles of repetition, self-sabotage, and instability that often define the human condition: those moments when we become aware of being trapped within patterns we struggle to escape.

The performance unfolds within a confined, abstract environment that feels both clinical and surreal. Minimal yet immersive, the space becomes a metaphorical interior landscape where two performers move through a series of encounters that blur the boundaries between resistance and surrender. Their relationship oscillates between attraction and refusal, dependence and rejection, revealing the fragile line between connection and isolation. Through repetition, fragmentation, and subtle transformation of movement, gestures reappear like memories replaying in the body, gradually drawing the performers deeper into patterns of endurance and change.
